Do I need a smartphone (phone with internet) to join Kindly Care?
At Kindly Care we pride ourselves in building great, user-friendly technology. Paper timesheets, hand-written logs and lengthy caregiver applications are a thing of the past. Our iOS and Android mobile applications will allow you to clock-in and out of your shifts, manage task lists, and daily care reports. You will also experience a convenient and swift caregiver onboarding application process through phone, text and online interactions. As a result, a mobile device such as a smartphone or tablet is required to access all of these services and features. However, if you do not have a smartphone, you may clock in and out of your shifts via text message.
Do I need to go into your office for an interview?
At Kindly Care we have made the onboarding process convenient and easy for caregivers. You will be able to complete the entire application process online and over the phone at your own pace and in the comfort of your own home. If a family wants to work with you, then you will meet the family directly for an in-person interview which Kindly Care will help coordinate.
Where is your office located?
We are proud to serve the states of Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, and Texas.
We are headquartered in San Francisco, CA. Our office is located in the downtown area of San Francisco known as Union Square.
Why do I need to send you pictures of myself?
At Kindly Care we create a professional profile for you.
We use this resume to connect you to our clients. It is a very important step as clients are more likely to want to meet caregivers that have a completed profile. As an added bonus, your digital resume will be shared with you.
You will have your own personal link to your profile that you are free to share and use through other channels to market yourself to private clients outside of Kindly Care (optional). If you prefer you may keep your profile private and it will only be shared with clients you are interested in meeting.
This profile is of charge to the caregiver and is our gift to you. To see an example of what your completed profile will look like go here.
Will I be a W-2 employee or 1099 contractor?
What makes Kindly Care so special is that you will be a W-2 employee of the client! Kindly Care does not contract nor employ any caregivers, instead we do all the work to help set-up the client as a legal domestic employer through the IRS. This allows caregivers and our clients more stability as our clients are looking for long-term, in-home caregivers. It also results in higher hourly rates for the caregiver while still providing substantial savings to the client compared to traditional agencies.
How much is the pay through Kindly Care?
Pay is based on the client’s needs, location and caregiver experience. The clients set the rate of pay as they will be your direct employer. Kindly Care does not employ caregivers, but rather we help connect clients to qualified caregivers and handle all of the administrative tasks and paperwork associated with the legal hiring process.
- In Arizona: most commonly negotiated rates between our caregivers and clients are approximately $14-$19/hour.
- In California: most commonly negotiated rates between our caregivers and clients are approximately $15-$23/hour.
- In Connecticut: most commonly negotiated rates between our caregivers and clients are approximately $17-$22/hour.
- In Florida: most commonly negotiated rates between our caregivers and clients are approximately $13.50-$18.50/hour.
- In Nevada: most commonly negotiated rates between our caregivers and clients are approximately $13-$18/hour.
- In New Jersey: most commonly negotiated rates between our caregivers and clients are approximately $15-$22/hour.
- In New York: most commonly negotiated rates between our caregivers and clients are approximately $15-$22/hour.
- In Texas: most commonly negotiated rates between our caregivers and clients are approximately $12-$19/hr.
How do I get hired by a client?
Once you complete our onboarding process, you will have access to apply for our exclusive job opportunities on our website.
Apply to as many jobs that fit your needs as this will increase your odds of getting connected to a family! Once we are alerted that you have applied for a job, we will notify the family of your interest.
If the family decides that they want to meet you for an in-person interview, then a care representative from our team will call or text you to schedule an in-person interview with the family.
At this time, we will also collect your consent and information we need to run your background check.
It is 100% the family’s decision on whom they decide to hire.
Do you have live-in shifts, overnight shifts, weekend shifts, etc.?
Schedules are based 100% on the client’s needs, just like the pay rate, Kindly Care does not set the caregiver's schedule. So the answer is yes, it is possible that clients will need live-in care or overnight shifts! As a caregiver on our platform, you will have the opportunity to set your own availability and choose which clients you want to work with based on your scheduling needs.
What happens if I get hired by a client, and then decide I no longer want to work for them?
Just as with any other job, it is customary to provide your employer (the client) at least 2 weeks’ notice to ensure the client has enough time to find a replacement caregiver.
